A conservatorship is a court case where a judge appoints a responsible person (called the "conservator") to care for another adult (called the "conservatee") who cannot care for himself or herself or manage his or her own finances. The conservator is responsible for making sure that the conservatee has proper food, clothing, shelter, and health care. The conservator may also be responsible for handling the conservatee's financial matters like collecting a person's income, paying bills and investing money.
Without the assistance of an experienced attorney, the process for having a conservator appointed can be very overwhelming or intimidating. We can help.

Probate is the court-supervised distribution of assets to beneficiaries listed in a Will after a person dies. If there is no Will, the persons receiving assets are designated by State law. This process can be slow and confusing, and we are more than happy to help you every step of the way.
We will help you file a petition to admit the Will into Probate Court, to appoint an Executor and to notify the beneficiaries and creditors. Then we will assist in the inventory, appraisal and sale of Estate assets, including the Decedent's home. After all funeral expenses and debts are paid, we will prepare a report and accounting for the Court and distribute the remaining assets to the beneficiaries as directed in the Will or as directed by State law.
